Daddy's Party Weekend Away

Mike spent the weekend away with his friends for a bachelor party weekend. The weekend actually started early for him when he took a half day at work to play golf in the afternoon. He left with his friends on Friday morning. We spent Friday during the day like any normal Friday although more time was spent inside because it was so cold and rainy. I decided to do something different with the girls on Friday night and after a "Princess Taco Bar Dinner Party" (we called it that because the girls were dressed up) at the in-laws Terri and I took the girls to see a play. We saw the Reluctant Dragon in Hopkins. We all got dressed up for it (although we did not need to). The girls did a good job of staying still for so long. They really enjoyed the musical numbers the most. I definitely need plays with music to keep their attention at this age! We went for ice cream after, which was probably their favorite part.

On Saturday we did gymnastics in the morning - which is always a good time. The rest of the day was spent at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Along with playing outside on bikes and "helping" grandma with some gardening, we also had the girls practice the flower girls roles which are coming up in a month now for my sister's wedding. They love getting dressed up and pretending a wedding is going on.

Emma fell asleep on the car ride home on Saturday because she did not take a nap and both girls quickly fell asleep on Saturday night. Both girls slept in until 8:30 this morning so I got a good night's rest too!
